The 88th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board was held in Washington, DC from January 11-15, 2009. Dr. Clifton presented three papers highlighing recent work:

The US General Services Administration awarded the DC Office of Planning, in conjunction with the National Center for Smart Growth, and Virginia Tech to examine the transportation and housing needs of the future federal workforce. The NCSG effort will be led by Dr. Kelly J. Clifton.

In November and December 2008, Dr. Clifton was a visiting scholar at the Transport Data Centre of the New South Wales Ministry of Transport in Sydney, Australia. The purpose of her visit was to work with the 12 years of household travel survey data for the Sydney region to understand connections between travel choices and the environment. She received a travel grant from the University of Maryland Office of International Programs to support her work there.
